Epsten Group believes in a practical, performance-driven approach to architectural design that balances aesthetic quality with the need to provide our clients with functional, durable, and cost-effective facilities. Our team of experienced architects delivers projects with an emphasis on a collaborative, approach centered on listening closely to a client’s needs and then providing timely and thoughtful service to execute architectural solutions that resolve programmatic challenges beautifully and affordably. Combined with an established process that closely manages schedule and budget, our team has a well-established record of providing our clients with successful, high-performance projects.
Our staff currently includes four Registered Architects with a portfolio that features a wide array of commercial projects including office and retail buildings, restaurants, events spaces, educational facilities, and parks and recreation facilities. The firm’s specialties include complex renovation and adaptive re-use projects, including multiple projects for clients ranging from DeKalb County School District to Grady Memorial Hospital to Zoo Atlanta. No matter the size of the project, Epsten Group has the technical skill and expertise to help make it successful.
The firm’s project management philosophy centers on two main focal points that are key to executing successful projects: communication and anticipation. We understand the need to clearly communicate schedule, budget, and quality expectations to the whole project team while also utilizing our experience and attentiveness to the project team in order to anticipate project needs and meet them with agility and efficiency. We take extra care to carefully fold intervals for client and quality control review into each project to make sure that each project has as complete and well-coordinated a set of architectural documents as possible.
This attentiveness to quality also extends to our choice in technology within our office, as well. Epsten Group was an early adopter of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, which can be used to visualize projects in three-dimensions for a variety of purposes from design conceptualization to clash detection. We are committed as a firm to stay on the forefront of technology to make sure the design we sell to our client is realized fully in built form. This includes not only the design tools we utilize, but the most up-to-date building techniques, as well.
Finally, we are deeply committed as a firm to sustainable design practices that contribute to building a healthier, more prosperous, and more just world. No matter the client’s budget or the size of their project, Epsten Group’s team can provide a building that has a smaller ecological footprint that reduces energy and water use, and the operational costs associated with them, and healthier environments for happier and more productive building occupants. Even in the most challenging of cases, Epsten Group’s knowledge base can often find cost-neutral ways to make better, more sustainable buildings. And, when paired with our other service lines like Sustainability Consulting, Energy Modeling, Environmental Life-Cycle Assessment, Building Commissioning, and Building Envelope Commissioning, Epsten Group can help clients realize their goals of constructing high-performance buildings.
