Epsten Group was established by Dagmar Epsten in 1991 as a traditional architecture firm, with sustainability consulting as a service option even before the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating systems for buildings became popular. Then, Epsten Group’s successes included overseeing the certification of two of Atlanta’s first LEED certified building projects, the Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business with the campus bookstore at Technology Square and the Wells Fargo office tower at Atlantic Station. The firm also became involved with LEED certification review services and has provided technical reviews on over 8,500 projects in more than 50 countries. Dagmar Epsten has since been recognized as Georgia’s first LEED Fellow and as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA) for continuing to build service lines and growing the firm into a multi-disciplinary professional services organization with architects, engineers, and environmental experts, providing comprehensive services for high-performance buildings including design, consulting, commissioning, and certifications.
