Sustainable Design and Consulting Firm Grows 440% in Three Years
Atlanta (October 14, 2011) – Even in a down economy, green means growth – and with recognition from Inc. Magazine earlier this month, sustainable design firm Epsten Group proved exactly that. In the publication’s annual 500|5000 list of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies, Epsten Group came in at number 716 in the nation, 26th in the construction industry, 22nd overall in Atlanta, in the top 100 of women-owned companies, and is the fastest-growing architecture firm in Atlanta.
“By focusing on sustainable, high-performance buildings while diversifying our design and consulting services to optimize, certify and verify built environments, Epsten Group has achieved a growing business solution with a national and international reach,” said Dagmar Epsten, President and CEO. “We have grown exponentially in the past few years by responding to market demands for durable, practical and energy-efficient building solutions, and we look forward to continued success for years to come.”
Five years ago, Epsten Group had only a handful of employees, but the firm quickly found success in its work with the LEED rating system and gained visibility providing LEED consulting services to Georgia Institute of Technology and Atlanta’s Atlantic Station development. Epsten Group began to grow rapidly and, in 2007, moved into its first custom office space, which it renovated to LEED Platinum standards – the first in Atlanta. The firm soon outgrew this space and expanded to another nearby historic building, again renovating the building to the highest environmental standards,
achieving four Green Globes and LEED Platinum certification. Epsten Group has now grown to a 50-person multidisciplinary architecture and building consulting firm with an international reach and a broad range of services.
